The Progressive Therapeutic Collective team comprises of accredited Counsellors, Psychologists, Sex Therapists & Remedial Massage Therapists.

    Sarah Newbold (she/her)

    PRACTICE DIRECTOR

    Sarah has a range of senior roles, including:
    Clinical Counsellor
    Social Worker
    Clinical Supervisor

    Sarah started the Progressive Therapeutic Collective to provide a service that is genuinely integrative, trauma-informed and safe.

    Sarah works with adults, both individually and in relationships.

    Sarah works with all forms of relationships (including monogamy, dating, polyamory, kink, relationship anarchy, friends with benefits and separation).

    Sarah identifies as a cis-gendered woman and is a proud member of the queer community.

    A values-based approach is fundamental to the work of all practitioners at Progressive Therapeutic Collective. Sarah works hard to promote diversity, equity, inclusivity and anti-oppression in her work.

    When Sarah isn't at work you will find her at the beach with therapy-assistant Raya, writing, reading, pottering in the garden and walking in the bush.

    *Please note, Sarah does not work with issues relating to cognitive impairment such as Alzheimers and Dementia.

    Dan (they/them)

    COUNSELLOR

    Dan is a counsellor who has worked with at-risk adolescents who have experienced complex trauma and difficulties managing their mental health. They highly value fostering a positive, safe, and non-judgmental space in the therapy room for whoever walks in.

    With a person-centered and holistic approach, Dan focuses on helping others live an authentic and values-driven life. This includes helping others identify and overcome barriers preventing them from doing so.

    In their spare time, Dan loves to write and play music, cultivate house plants, meditate, spend time outdoors and with family.

    Jen (she/her)

    COUNSELLOR & SEXOLOGIST

    Jen has studied psychology and sexology and has experience working with a number of mental-health and well-being issues.

    She is an advocate of trauma-informed practice and has a strong interest in the use of mindfulness and compassion-based therapies.

    Jen takes a person-centred approach to therapy and works with a range of evidence-based modalities.

    She values the provision of a non-judgemental, open space and brings her warm and empathic nature to her therapeutic practice.

    In her spare time, Jen enjoys reading, music, gardening, cooking for loved ones, and mindfulness activities such as meditation and breathwork.

    Jen’s key focus areas in counselling are:
    Sexual trauma
    Abortion counselling
    Grief
    Relational and sexual challenges

    PROJECT LEAD - EDUCATION & ADVOCACY

    Kit provides practice management support and is the Project Lead of Education.

    They are passionate about the provision of mental health support that is gender and neurodiversity-affirming.

    Raya

    THERAPY-ASSISTANT (IN TRAINING)

    Raya is a beautiful, bouncy and gentle rescue dog, who was adopted from SAFE.

    Raya is currently undergoing training as a therapy assistant; she loves to be around people and other creatures.

We work on land never ceded.

We acknowledge the Whadjuk people of the Noongar Nation,
